I had the opportunity to interview Gabriela Isler, Miss Universe 2013 while I still worked at Telemundo around April 2014. Isler spoke about how she prepared for her role of Miss Universe and about the situation in her home country, Venezuela. [SPANISH INTERVIEW]
This reporting reel is a compilation of stand-ups that I was able to accomplish during time as an intern at the Miami Bureau of Fox News Channel in Spring 2013 and at NBC Universal's Telemundo Network in Summer 2013 (in Spanish). The third stand-up and last story were done in Fall 2013 during my last semester as a student at Florida International University as part of my senior project. My work was published in sfnsonline.com as a contribution to the South Florida News Service. I edited the reporting reel myself.
"We Have a Dream" was a collaborative project done through the South Florida News Service. Our goal was to tell the stories of immigrants in South Florida who have suffered family separation or are afraid to experience it in the near future. This project was taking place amid a national debate about immigration reform.
Through these stories, we wanted to tell the sociocultural impact that exists for each immigrant and their families seeking a path to citizenship. Please click here or on the picture above to read the stories.
